Can Acupuncture help with Weight Loss?
|
I get a lot of calls about this. Here is my response: I highly recommend the South Beach diet program, really a life-style change. It is important to understand the "glycemic index" factor of all foods. I have been doing this since summer 2008, besides loosing weight I am also understanding how the sugar content in a so-called healthy food matters. Incorporate an exercise program (your choice!), and an eating program (again your choice, ie. Weight Watchers, Zone, South Beach, counting calories), and then add acupuncture. Acupuncture & Chinese medicine can help if you eat due to stress, food/flavor cravings (ie. sweet, salty), retain fluids, or have indigestion - as these may indicate an imbalance which acupuncture could address. So, the answer is YES and NO! Eating is a big part of our lives and loosing weight is a challenge. It is now recommended that we loose even 10% of our weight, so that may be easier to attain. Call me, let's talk.
I like the website Spark People, for online support. Check them out, and give me a call! Good luck.
