Join us for an herb walk, identify, harvest and create healing products from native plants. Have you wondered about the plants that grow wild around us? Identify plantain, mullein, yarrow, red clover, prickly ash, goldenrod, nettles and many more, and discover their health benefits. Learn techniques for harvesting native herbal plants for medicinal and edible purposes. Make a tincture and salve, with flower essence technique and other preparations from herbs.

The Science and Practice of Compassion Humor, Comics & Health Stress Management & Chinese Medicine Staying Healthy with Seasonal Changes Tea - Types, Traditions and Benefits We'll be tasting, as well as learning. You willl see that "history is steeped in tea, and tea is steeped in history"! Walking the Labyrinth - without leaving your chair! This session will exlore the history, types and use of labyrinths, which are circular paths used for meditation, from cultures around the world. Participants will learn how to make and use desktop labyrinths for relaxation, centering and stress reduction. Reducing Colds and Flu with Chinese Medicine - as the busy holiday and winter season approach come learn some techniques for maintaining your health, reducing your stress and risk for these conditions. Stay in balance with the winter season, learn to balance your yin and yang, using simple techniques. The Practice of Gratitude - Participants will reflect on attitudes of gratitude and how to use that as a tool for changing negative thoughts into positive expressions of gratefulness. Traditional Chinese Medicine - Learn about the Eight Branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how to apply its self-care and health promotion practices. Mindfulness Meditation - Participants will learn how to quiet the mind, listen to the body, investigate the source of emotions and thoughts, and deal with the obstacles to peace within. Acupuncture: What's the Point? How does it work? What can it treat? Participants will explore the use of acupuncture and its potential benefits.
